Reviews of Ethics in Finance: Case Studies from a Woman’s Life on Wall Street

Ethics in Finance Awarded Bronze Medal

The book currently has a five-star rating on Amazon.com. One reviewer calls the book, “Fascinating and Enlightening” The reviewer further writes:

Ethics in Finance: Case Studies from a Woman’s Life on Wall Street by Kara Tan Bhala is one of those rare books that is both educational and entertaining in equal parts. It’s also the rare book about Wall Street from the perspective of an Asian woman in a decade where there were very few on Wall Street to speak of. For this reason alone the book holds great value and is a must-read. But the ethical and moral lessons herein are also just as valuable if not more-so. Bravo. Hoping for a sequel!

Another reviewer notes:

Finally, a book that makes ethics and philosophy in finance accessible and practical. Dr. Tan Bhala’s experience makes this book invaluable for finance practitioners, while her understanding of ethics and philosophy makes this book a gem for anyone wishing to contemplate situational questions of right and wrong. I plan to use this text in an upper-level high school philosophy course, giving students an opportunity to discuss Dr. Tan Bhala’s choices while studying various philosophers’ approaches to ethics. I’m excited to have her voice, both grounded and humorous, lead us through numerous scenarios that shine a light on the often-murky finance world. The beauty of Dr. Tan Bhala’s approach is her invitation to question the financial world in which we must all navigate.
