Ethics in Finance Wins Business Book Award
Dr. Kara Tan Bhala’s recent book, Ethics in Finance: Case Studies from a Woman’s Life on Wall Street, was the winner in the International Business Book Category of the Business Book Awards (UK) 2022. The awards were presented on May 16th in a sparkling ceremony in London.
From the 8 books short-listed in International Business Dr. Tan Bhala’s earned first place.
The judges said Ethics in Finance, “quietly rose to the top, and stayed there.” The author’s stories of discrimination in finance were their stories, too — being excluded from meetings and events, being made to feel invisible. The judges praised the quality of Dr. Tan Bhala’s prose, her ability to encapsulate over 25 years of experience in just 128 pages, and her knack for synthesizing the sophisticated philosophical analyses she learned while earning her doctorate in philosophy. They told her they knew her book was “readily accessible to a wide audience” and would “endure for years.”
The Business Book Awards highlight the quality and variety of business books in the market and offer industry-wide recognition to new and established authors writing on a range of subjects for a diverse readership.
